Most of you have heard about “Black Operations” where our servicemen engage in covert missions around the globe such as the Seal Team 6 takedown of Osama Bin Laden. And, probably most of you that have also read books, watched movies and TV shows about that and other similar operations.

One of the things common to that operation and what you may have read, seen, or heard is that they all had extensive support and backup. But try to imagine if they didn’t? What if they had nothing?

What if Seal Team Six had to parachute from high altitude above Osama Bin Laden’s compound in the dark, so they would hopefully not be detected, using the old type parachutes and when they landed, if lucky, near each other, they had no night vision goggles, no intercoms, no satellite or drone support, and could not use their radios?

What if all they had were orders to somehow make it safely to Osama’s compound, somehow gain access, and do whatever it took to kill Osama and then afterward hike out for days to somewhere across the border where it would be safe to be extracted by helicopter? And less, I forget, under no circumstances allow themselves or their teammates to be taken alive.

That is what it was like for me back in those early years of Operation Phoenix, and what this book is all about.

Was it scary? Yes, for the first few missions, it was. But then it got worse; I started to enjoy it!

For over fifty years, the Marine Corps Recon involvement in “Operation Phoenix” in North Vietnam back in 1958-59 has been kept a complete secret. After reading my novel, you will understand why.

The Forgotten Bomb

The Forgotten Bomb

$9.99eBook: $0.99Audiobook: $15.18
Author:
Genre: Thriller

This is a story about Ukraine enacting revenge against Russia and a bomb, not just any bomb, a gigantic hydrogen bomb.

In 1961 Russia built and exploded the biggest thermonuclear weapon in the world, a monster 58 Megaton bomb, over 3000 times larger than the bombs that blew up Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Actually, the Russians secretly built two of the weapons and stored the second one in a nuclear storage facility where it remained for 28 years safely and eventually nearly forgotten.

In 1989 as retaliation for all the horrific abuses and suffering Ukraine had endured from Russia, Ukrainian conscripts stationed at the facility decided to steal the bomb and use it to destroy Moscow.

Although the conscripts amazingly were successful in acquiring the bomb, they, unfortunately, could not detonate it, and they leave it hidden.

It isn’t until 2022 that Russia finally discovered to their horror that the old giant bomb was missing and eventually determined those responsible had immigrated to the USA.

To assist their investigation in finding the bomb, Putin called our President and requested the help of the FBI to locate the criminals.
At the President's request, the FBI assigned a top field agent, Peter Kanowsky, who is of Ukrainian descent, to oversee the search team in the USA.

Unfortunately, during his investigation, Peter not only learned the location of the bomb and how to set it off, but he was also turned mentally and emotionally by his repeated exposure to hearing the ongoing litany of the suffering that Russia had imposed upon Ukraine.

Yielding to the persuasive coercion from the emigres he interviewed, and the encouragement of his own family, Peter ultimately decided it was his duty and obligation to his Ukrainian ancestry to go to Moscow and personally set off the bomb.

Surprisingly Peter ended up having a lot of help, as his plans meshed almost perfectly with the machinations of an ongoing high-level Russian plot.

What was different about their plan versus his? Peter wanted to set off the bomb immediately, and they wanted him to wait three months for the perfect time, during the big celebration in Moscow of Putin’s 70th birthday, to make sure every one of importance was in town.

With the help of a beautiful and sexy lady to keep him happy, they persuaded him to wait.

So – the ending is, Happy Birthday President Putin from Ukraine, or maybe not?

DESPOT

Genre: Thriller

On October 7, 2022, during President Putin’s 70th birthday celebration, Moscow was obliterated by a gigantic hydrogen bomb hidden there many years earlier by Ukrainian nationalists in retaliation for all the horrific abuses and suffering Ukraine had endured under Russia.

The long-forgotten bomb was supposedly discovered and detonated by a rogue FBI agent of Ukrainian descent, Peter Kanowsky, in support of their cause.

But what if Peter didn’t do it? What if Ukraine wasn’t even involved in the catastrophe?

What if someone else was responsible, and if so, who would commit such an appalling crime and why would they do it.

That is what DESPOT is all about. It is the story of the people trying to establish who actually was responsible for setting off the bomb that assassinated Putin, killing those many millions of innocent people, and to prove it so they can stop those responsible before they can use nuclear weapons again. And most importantly, to assure whoever was guilty pay for their dreadful crime.

This thriller is a follow-on to my previously published novel, The Forgotten Bomb.

The Exiles

The Exiles

$9.99eBook: $0.99Audiobook: $9.99
Author:
Genre: Thriller

Can people change? What about in the wake of a terrible disaster?

I think they can and will, but not all of them, and this what The Exiles is all about. Who changed, who didn’t change and what happened afterward as they sought a safe sanctuary.

In this thriller, a well-intentioned thermo-electric energy project at Yellowstone inadvertently triggers a supervolcano eruption that will destroy most of the United States.

In the aftermath of this catastrophe, unlikely groups of people are drawn together as they make their escape. Some people perform unprecedented acts of generosity and bravery, others commit appalling acts of depravity and violence, and some are seemingly unaffected.

This novel chronicles these changes or lack of it in several disparate groups of people as they make their escape to the unspoiled Pacific island of Tuvalu.

It tracks the exploits of a billionaire and his friend that unintentionally initiated the disaster, a busload of children with Down Syndrome, violent convicted killers, virtuous Amish families, dockworkers, deckhands, boat crewmen, Pacific islanders, and even some US Navy enlisted personnel and officers.
